πŸš€ Ship Faster, Scale Smarter

with a Freelance Rust & Cloud Engineer

πŸ‘‹ I'm Pascal Poredda, a experienced freelance Rust backend developer and Kubernetes freelance engineer. I help SaaS teams and small to large tech businesses build high-performance, cloud-native systems with Rust, TimescaleDB, and Kubernetes completely cloud platform agnostic.

πŸ”§ What I bring:

  • πŸ”„ Microservices that talk-fast, reliably, and securely
  • βš™οΈ Kubernetes setups that don't collapse under pressure
  • ☁️ Cloud infrastructure that scales, without surprises

With a focus on performance, resilience, and real-world deployment, I'm not just your contractor-I'm your backend co-pilot.

Since 2023, I'm running Poredda Digital, a Rust development & consultancy services company. My other ventures include a Chrome Extension for LinkedIn called PostRadar as well as a generative AI consultancy under AI consultancy & Generative AI implementation.

My current side projects include PGAwesome.

You'll usually find me working from High Studios, a premium co-working space in Cologne, where I collaborate with other entrepreneurs and creators.

Early life

I was born and raised in Germany, where I developed an early interest in technology through video games. Like many kids, I was drawn to online games such as World of Warcraft, Combat Arms, and League of Legends, which became an escape from school where I faced bullying.

These games introduced me to online friends who later became real-life connections. Two of these friends, who were running a TeamSpeak server hosting platform, introduced me to the world of programming when I was just 11 years old. Through their mentorship, I began learning PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS, virtual servers, and Linux administration.

By age 14, I was already working part-time as a web developer, dedicating 10 hours a week to coding while still attending school. My days were split between formal education and rushing home to code and play Minecraft, which was still in its Alpha release at the time.

Early Entrepreneurship

My entrepreneurial spirit emerged early, as I consistently sought alternative paths to conventional approaches. Instead of doing homework, I built a platform where high-performing students could upload their completed assignments, which others could download for a small fee and modify slightly. This venture earned me around 10 euros weekly.

When struggling with Latin, I created a searchable website containing class exam texts and their German translations. These early projects demonstrated my knack for identifying problems and developing practical solutions-a skill that would later define my career.

By age 14, I was earning approximately 450 euros monthly building websites and small applications. Rather than saving or investing this income, I reinvested in my passion for gamingβ€”a decision I now jokingly regret when considering the potential returns had I purchased Bitcoin instead.

First Websites & Web Applications

I learned to code by building websites and web applications. My journey began with basic websites and quickly expanded to Chrome extensions and Firefox plugins, becoming one of the early developers in these platforms.

Over the years, I've built many websites and web applications, including contributing and maintaining open-source projects like OwlCarousel 2 and smaller tools that help developers be more productive.

Going my own way

After college, I became a consultant and started working on B2B SaaS and enterprise applications for a few years. This led me to found my own business Poredda Digital, where I now focus on helping clients build high-performance software solutions using Rust, NextJS, TypeScript, NodeJS, PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB. Poredda Digital has helped several years building a big data & Industrial IoT solution for Weber Maschinenbau GmbH, where I contributed building their FactoryCockpit.

My work combines consulting, development, and technical leadership, with a strong focus on performance optimization and system architecture. Shipping, failing and iterating is key to my approach.
